OPEN CAMPUS COMPUTER LAB

NORMAL HOURS OF OPERATION

Campus Computer Lab Building 2 (Student Center) Room 405
Hours of operation are Monday to Thursday 7:30AM to 7:30PM, Friday 7:30 to 4:00PM and Saturday 8:00 to 12 Noon.

Equipment: Windows, Macintosh systems, printers and scanners. Paper packets for printing are available for purchase.
HON ITS managed computer labs are for currently enrolled students and require current UH ID and login account.

COMPUTER LAB RULES & POLICIES

•Present a current valid student ID to enter the Student Computer Lab (SCL).
•You must have a current UH Student ID plus UH Account (yourname@hawaii.edu)
•No liquids, food, or edible substances are allowed in the lab. Leave at entry-counter or stow away.

Work on computers will be monitored by staff for appropriate usage .

•Save your work on a removable medium such as USB (thumb) drive

    Files saved on local drives will be erased.

•Printing:

    1. Print student-generated schoolwork only.
    2. NO printing of other data, including pictures.
    3. Original only --- no multiple copies.
    4. You must supply your own 20# (pound) paper for printers.

•The Student Computer Lab is not responsible for:

    1. Loss of data.
    2. Damage to any diskette, thumb drive, or other medium.
    3. Loss of personal items.

BEWARE OF THEFT!

•Lab monitors are:

    Here to assist with technical problems, not to train.
    Here to help with software questions, but are not expected to know all programs.
    Not employed to do student’s assignments.
    Not employed to wait on lab users

ALL PENALTIES WILL BE RECORDED.

•This is a study hall. You are to work quietly, keeping conversation levels low. Loud or otherwise disruptive students will be penalized as follows:

    First Offense = You will be asked to leave the SCL for the rest of the day.
    Second Offense = You will be banned from the SCL for one month from the date of penalty, or possibly longer, depending on the seriousness of the infraction, and past recorded SCL history.

•No viewing of pornographic/adult sites. Viewing such sites will be penalized as follows:

    First Offense = You will be asked to leave the SCL for the rest of the day.
    Second Offense = You will be banned from the lab for one year from the date of the penalty.

•No computer games are allowed in SCL. A user playing games will be penalized as follows:

    First Offense = You will be warned.
    Second Offense = You will be banned from the lab for one month from the penalty.

MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY OR REFUSE SERVICE IF A SITUATION DICTATES.
